Early U.S. Navy award develops modular lithium-ion storage

A 2009 Navy SBIR project asked K2 Energy to design and fabricate a modular battery system based on its LFP technology and vehicle-system experience.

A Navy Phase I award began on July 16, 2009, for modular lithium-ion battery research.

Its proposed system drew on K2’s high-performance electric-vehicle battery experience. This record describes research, not a current K2VOLT Navy installation.
